Why Divali is the most important religious activity in Trinidad and Tobago as an educational topic ?
Diwali, also called Deepavali, known as the "Festival of Lights," is a major Hindu festival that symbolises the victory of good over evil. In North India, Diwali marks the time when the Hindu God Rama achieved victory over the demon Ravana. Celebrations of this event involve lighting lamps and fireworks to symbolize hope and restoration.
Diwali is celebrated for five consecutive days at the end of Hindu month of Ashwayuja. It usually occurs in October/November, and is one of the most popular and eagerly awaited festivals in India. Hindus and Sikhs alike regard it as a celebration of life and use the occasion to strengthen family and social relationships.
In Sanskrit, the word Deepavali means an array of lights that stands for victory of brightness over darkness. However, as the knowledge of Sanskrit diminished over the centuries, the term was modified to Diwali, especially in northern India. To this day, Diwali is the common name used by North Indians for the festival while South Indians call it Deepavali. However, the meanings of both terms are identical: "row of lights."
While Diwali is popularly known as the "festival of lights," its most significant esoteric meaning is "the awareness of the inner light."
Central to Hindu philosophy is the assertion that there is something beyond the physical body and mind which is pure, infinite, and eternal, called the Atman. Just as we celebrate the birth of our physical being, Diwali is the celebration of this Inner Light the knowing of which outshines all darkness (removes all obstacles and dispels all ignorance), awakening the individual to one's true nature, not as the body, but as the unchanging, infinite, immanent and transcendent reality. With the realization of the Atman, comes universal compassion, love, and the awareness of the oneness of all things (higher knowledge). This brings Ananda (Inner Joy or Peace).
Diwali celebrates this through festive fireworks, lights, flowers, sharing sweets, and worship. While the story behind Deepavali varies from region to region, the essence is the same—to rejoice in the Inner Light (Atman) or the underlying reality of all things (Brahman).

Teachers should bring in the children attention in religious education
Hey all I am posting a new blog concerning that teachers should be able to bring in religious education in their educational lesson. Therefore, students can feel a sense of belonging in a religious ethnicity. All religions such as hindus, chrisitians and muslims should be able to participate this in all schools of Trinidad and Tobago. I have wrote another blog concerning an educational topic on Divali that I would personally find all religions be able to take part in this. By teaching religious education in school, i believe that all students would be able to benefit from this as it shows the importance of it in Trinidad and Tobago since they would know what to expect or do around religious times of the year.
Yours Respecfully

How can teachers develop learning better opportunities with their children?
1. Teaching can help by teaching children to write in multiple forms (stories, information, poems and letters)
2. Teachers should teach strategies for spelling new and difficult words.
3. Teachers should engage children in activities that require reading and writing skills.
4. Always encourage children to share what they have learned about their writing and reading.
5. Always remind the students to visit the library regularly to help build on their writing and reading abilities.
6. Always bring a parent teacher conference evidence of what your child can do in writing and reading so that the parent can help assist them in whatever way that is necessary.
I believe that if teachers follow the above ways there lesson can be delivered properly and explained better. In this blog which is directed to all teachers, if you have any discipline technique that would like to share with me please do so writing some comments on my blog so I could try these skills in my classroom with my students.
Yours respectfully,

Here are the following discipline methods that teachers should try within their classroom
1. Teachers should create a set of rules in their classroom for students to follow.
2. Teachers should educate; to develop by instruction and make their discipline methods as a form of exercise in order for students to follow every day.
3. They always use the praise and reward system within their classroom to help build students interest so that they could be encouraged to follow a set of rules.
4. In addition, discipline can be controlled by allowing students to perform several class activities in their classroom that is quiet.
5. Teachers should always call their students’ parent to determine the child’s problem and to see how they can solve that problem so that the child will not be disruptive in the classroom.
I believe that if teachers follow the above ways, I believe that there lesson can be delivered properly and explained better. In this blog directed to all teachers, if you all have any discipline techniques that you have to share with me please do share by writing some comments on my blog so I could incorporate these skills in my classroom with my students to foster a place for discipline.

How can teachers develop opportunities with their students to develop better learning postures within themselves?
This second blog piece is related to what teachers should do in their classrooms that would help build interest to students to study more and more. In this case we would use motivation. Motivation can be defined as a force that energizes, sustains and directs behavior toward a goal (Brophy,2004; Pintrich & Schunk 2002) .It is said that children motivation to learn lies at the very core of achieving success in schooling. There are two categories of motivation and they are extrinsic and intrinsic motivation. Teachers should always try to motivate learning so students’ tendencies towards academic activities are more meaningful and worthwhile and students can always try to get intended learning benefits from them.
Extrinsic motivation usually involves students excelling in their studies unless some kind of reward is achieved at the end, for example rewards or prizes. Teachers usually use this style of motivation in order to help bring out the best in students in order to better their academic performance. Some variation of rewards that are given to students would include items such as books, stickers or simply carrying the students outside for games. Another main reward would be incentives such as having the child who performed well getting a star on the wall of fame and at the end of the month the child who gathers up the most stars would be entitled to become student of the week or month. These are all great examples teachers could use in their classrooms to encourage students to perform.
Intrinsic motivation has been studied by social and educational psychologists since the early 1970s. Research has found that it is usually associated with high educational achievement and enjoyment by students. With this being said, when teachers teach lessons to students it would help them to learn better when understanding it clearly and meaningfully. When the lesson is fully explained to students, they would develop a strong liking for that subject matter and eventually take great interest in learning. Furthermore, students in schools would be able to develop goals, ambitions and would form class or school competition with one another. In addition to intrinsic motivation, students would feel a form of satisfaction when they recognize and appreciate their accomplishments in academics.
Teachers can play a major role when they encourage students to study more and always congratulate their own classroom students for their hard work when trying and always reminding students to always keep on trying. These are the aims all teachers should try to focus on, that learning might not be possible without proper insights into what children can gain from knowledge but from what knowledge can help students gain.

Welcome to all teachers both past and new teachers
My name is Hemant Narinedath and i am creating my very first own blog on the internet that is pertaining to what teachers should do in their classrooms. As a new teacher in the service, I have been looking at all the different types of teachers with different ranking system to determine how they conduct their classroom in terms of classroom teaching skills, discipline skills, the way how a teacher focused to treat each child in the class in terms of school work and other activities that takes place within the school compound. To all the teachers who are in the service for a long time and to all the new teachers i think my blog can be very helpful since it is trying to help me become a better teacher as the past generation of teachers should be.
Yours Respectfully,
